The Couloir adventure started in the French Alps in 2006, when the Couloir bar opened. A few years later, the adventure continued at Amager Strand, where they tried to create the same atmosphere as in the Alps. This was a bigger project than that, and in 2011 the ownership changed - so that Kasper and Anders took over the reins and to this day are still the driving force behind Couloir.
After a couple of successful years by the water, they moved to new premises in 2014/2015 - and they're still here. The new premises are located at the bottom of the beach's most beautiful building, Øresund Tower, and Couloir has gone from being a small café to an eatery with ambitions. In the fall of 2014, Couloir took over the operation of Restaurant Lynetten and today Anders and Kasper run both Couloir and Lynetten - two restaurants with close relationships.
In the summer of 2017, we had growing pains, we went all out and opened two more places - we were offered two gems we could not say no to:
Restaurant Hellerup Sejlklub - a stone's throw from Øresund and with a fantastic terrace. We have found a fantastic team of chefs who make Danish food with a twist.
Bistro Couloir - a little sister to Couloir. At CPH Studio Hotel we make bistro food at its best, simple dishes made from good ingredients. We love the decor, New Yorker at its best!
Since then we have expanded to run a hotel - and now also an inn! Since 2021, we have managed the newly renovated Hotel Nørrevang on beautiful Falster - located just 500 meters from white sandy beaches. In addition, we have just taken over the charming Øro Kro and Hotel. We are extremely pleased to be able to open the doors to yet another idyllic Danish gem.
Our passion for food and drink has grown in line with demand, which has led us to embark on a new takeaway project in 2023! Couloir To-Go is located less than a stone's throw from Øresund Metro and right down to Amager beach. It oozes life and happy summer days! We offer everything from delicious coffee and homemade lemonades to hot dishes and snacks. Come in and visit us and get something delicious for your beach trip!
Running an eatery is not just a job, but a passion and a dream, and it is this dream that we pursue every day. Our goal for Couloir is to be the preferred eatery on Amager for a lot of people, this must be done through good food at reasonable prices. Living a dream like this is not possible without having good employees, and we believe we are lucky enough to have the best. All our employees are chosen based on their personality and their desire to pursue our dream - together with us!
